Hello Everyone!

Welcome to ATA Local 5 new website, please be patient as we build this site.

You may have noticed that your email will no longer work on your devices. We were having a lot of issues with the last service provider, so I switched to a local company.  Lets hope we have better success.  For now please use the following link. I will post a video after Christmas to show how to setup phone etc, and how to configure a mail forward.  If you already have a forward, it should have move with the transfer.

A Public Education,  a monthly television series about excellence, innovation and personal growth in Southern Alberta schools.  This one of a kind series, takes you inside the classroom to see and hear public education in action.

Currently in it’s sixth season, A Public Education features stories submitted by teachers, trustees and school staff.  Each show is hosted by a different member of Southern Alberta’s education community.

The series is produced through a unique media collaboration between Southern Alberta School Boards, local Alberta Teacher Associations and the Faculty of Education at the University of Lethbridge.

Watch A Public Education on CTVTwo and Shaw Television and browse the current and archived video sections to view all the stories that appear on A Public Education.

OUR LOGOcropped-9200037.jpg

Our local’s logo has its roots in Lethbridge Catholic ATA Local #79. In 1992, our local council held a design contest. Julie Rook, a teacher in our local at the time, created the design chosen. As you can see, the cross symbolizes the centralizing support our Christian faith brings to our Catholic local.

When regionalization occurred in 1994, Holy Spirit Catholic ATA Local #5 was formed. At this time, the dove was added to symbolize the importance the Holy Spirit had not only in the foundation of our constitution as  an ATA local but also in the day-to-day undertakings of our members. Sometimes, you may see a similar graphic primarily used for your computer-related activities. This, too, reflects the local’s values, and we hope  that both images are familiar to our members and stakeholders.
