Welcome to the new Local 5 website and the 2026–27 school year! We hope this site helps you stay informed, connected and supported throughout the year. Visit the "Contact Us" page to find your school representative, and please feel free to reach out with any questions.

New Teacher Conference

The New Teachers Conference takes place October 2–3 at the Best Western Premier Calgary Plaza Hotel. It is open to teachers living south of Red Deer who are in their first two years of classroom teaching or are new to teaching in Alberta. Reach out to the local treasurer to arrange reimbursement.

Member Contact Information

School representatives will collect updated member contact information in September. Keeping your information current ensures accurate records with the provincial ATA and allows you to receive our monthly "You Should Know…" emails.

The Alberta Teachers’ Association acknowledges Treaty 4, 6, 7, 8 and 10 territories within Alberta.
